Charity Week 2024 - Let's Raise Funds for Lyme Disease UK
St Mary’s Calne
My Story
This year the LVI Charity Committee lead the St Mary's community in raising funds for Lyme Disease UK.
Former student Yasmin will be coming in to talk to us about her personal journey as she recovers from Lyme Disease.
Her father John, inspired by her journey, will be 'winning his own race' later this year by taking on an epic challenge to row across the atlantic in order to raise awareness of and support this important charity.
In school the LVI are leading a whole host of activites throughout the week. Two highlights are the Open Mic Night on the Friday (tickets can be booked via the following link)
https://www.calneconnected.org/event/charity-week-2024-open-mic-night
and the 24 hour sponsored tennis coachathon. Mr Hayes, supported by the team, students at both St Mary's and St Margaret's as well as members from the St Mary's Sports Club will be coaching/ playing tennis for 24 hours.
Lyme Disease UK is a relatively small charity and we look forward to welcoming the team at St Mary's. In addition to raising funds, it is our aim to raise awareness.
Please use this page to sponsor our students and staff for the school events as well as John as he trains in anticipation of his epic challenge later this year.
